Hand & Hand- Educational / Vocational Job Development  Training Program

EDUCATIONAL & VOCATIONAL JOB TRAINING with & for the                          HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

Educational & Vocational Job Training Program prepares people with disabilities for employment in a variety of settings  & work environments.  The people in training develop occupational expertise and confidence through sustained practice that is individualized to build on skills acquired, meeting personal, social & vocational needs, and supports personal ambitions.  We provide a safe, caring & happy environment.  We have very high expectations of everyone who walks into our program and we foster a culture of, WE CAN!  All our programs are developed in collaboration with our Hospitality Industry Advisory Board to ensure they meet the needs of today's Hospitality Business.

To enter our program all trainees must go through a Special Vocational Assessment to evaluate their Vocational strengths.  After that they will enter a two-week program in our training location for further assessment.  Upon successfully completing the two-week program they will move on to an eight-week program.  We believe the most important factor in vocational training is that the training takes place in a real-work environment with real guests.  Professionals will fulfill their everyday duties in the Training Hotels, Restaurants, Schools, Country Clubs, Grocery Stores and Hospitals while taking time to make sure all trainees are well supported in their daily routine.  This enables them to develop in their skills, while they are contributing to the business.  Our caring, passionate and well-trained staff will work closely with each trainee during and after the program.  The staff also makes sure that they understand the importance of work ethics and its attributes such as Punctuality, Teamwork, Guest Service/Care, specific work functions and Personal Appearance.  This will enable them to obtain and keep work upon leaving the Educational & Vocational Job Training Program.
