My son John has Fragile X Syndrome and has experienced remarkable growth through active social involvement. Participating in the Special Olympics and serving as the Varsity Team Manager for both Soccer and Basketball at BVNW High School kept him busy, happy, and connected with others. He excelled in these roles and was a joyful individual.

As John approached graduation, my wife and I began exploring what his future would hold. After considering all possible opportunities, I decided to bring John to work with me. He quickly became a beloved member of the team, forming strong bonds with both employees and regular guests.

Upon my retirement, we once again found ourselves contemplating John's next steps. Now living in a home with friends he grew up with, John is happy but faces the challenge of finding meaningful activities during the weekdays that foster his growth as an adult.

Recognizing the need for more choices and opportunities for John and others like him, we founded jbf. Our mission is to provide individuals with disabilities the support and opportunities they need to thrive and grow.
